Spanish chef Andoni Luis Aduriz is to open a new restaurant in San Sebastian in 2022.
After ten years, Aduriz’s IXO Group is to close the ni neu restaurant, located in the Kursaal Conference Centre, on 7 February and open a new concept in the coming months. Aduriz is currently developing the new restaurant concept with his team, and fire will feature as the central element.
"I have always felt attracted to the link that fire has had with the different cultures of the world, and how we have related to it gastronomically from our ancestors to the present day,” said Aduriz.
The new restaurant will join five others on the IXO Group list: Bodegón Alejandro (Donostia-San Sebastián), Topa Sukaldería (Donostia-San Sebastián), Mugaritz (Errenteria), Bistró Guggenheim Bilbao (Bilbao) and Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao (Bilbao).
Construction on the space will take place in the coming months and as yet no opening date or name has been announced.
