Algae are a group of organisms found in the waters of oceans, seas, rivers and lakes. Some of them are single-celled organisms that float on the water surface individually or in colonies or settle to the bottom of reservoirs.Others, multicellular, called seaweed, can grow up to several meters in size, and are usually attached to the ground to form a kind of underwater meadows. However, not everyone knows how perfectly these large and small algae can affect our skin.At least 40 types of algae with various properties are used in cosmetics. They all contain proteins, fats, carbohydrates, elements such ascopper, manganese, iron, iodine, zinc, calcium, bromine and vitamins B, A, C and E.Their wide use in care products is also related to their structural structure, very similar to human plasma. Thanks to this property, they can penetrate deeply into our skin, bringing quick, expected results. In addition, they support the penetration of other care ingredients contained in cosmetics into it.Due to the richness of vitamins and minerals, algae are widely used not only in cosmetology, but also in medicine, biotechnology and dietetics.Dried algae can be added to dishes like any other seasoning in this form.Soaked, they are perfect for soups, sauces or various salads.Already in the mid-nineteenth century, a science called algology was established, which studies the properties and environment of algae.- Algae supply our skin with vitamins, amino acids, proteins and minerals, which perfectly regenerate tissues and cells, providing them with an adequate level of hydration - explains Katarzyna Smolak, cosmetologist.- They protect the cells of the epidermis and dermis against free radicals, thus delaying the aging process. The lipids found in algae contain essential fatty acids which strengthen the lipid barrier and eliminate inflammation of the epidermis.Carbohydrates, in turn, affect the work of the sebaceous glands, acting bacteriostatic.Algae also contain large amounts of carotenoids, and the content of beta-carotene in some species is four times higher than in carrots. As a result, they work anti-aging.Vitamin C lightens discoloration and strengthens and tones the walls of blood vessels.Vitamin E stimulates the metabolic processes in the skin. The high content of B vitamins means that algae are also added to preparations for seborrhoeic skin. The micronutrients contained in algae are well absorbed both by our digestive system and the stratum corneum. Most of them are: zinc, copper, bromine, iodine, calcium, iron, magnesium and manganese. These components affect cellular metabolism, strengthen blood vessels and normalize the functioning of the sebaceous glands. They also protect against free radicals and strengthen the immune system. In cosmetology, algae are used in creams, gels, liquids, massage preparations and cosmetic masks, as well as in conditioners and gels for hair care and styling.Among freshwater algae, spirulina and chlorella are most often used, most often in cosmetics intended to rejuvenate our skin or accelerate its regeneration.Spirulina brightens the skin, and chlorella has cleansing properties, so it can be helpful, among others.in the fight against herpes.Brown algae, green algae and looms - sea algae rich in alginic acid and agar, can moisturize, tighten, smooth and firm, but also nourish, anti-inflammatory and soothe.- Algae are used as ingredients in body and face care preparations because they have a cleansing, revitalizing, moisturizing and anti-aging effect - says the specialist.- However, they are also used in preparations for treating dermatological diseases such as eczema, psoriasis and scars.Algae are also one of the ingredients of anti-cellulite preparations. Thanks to the alginic acid content, they stimulate the metabolism and contribute to the removal of fat deposits.Potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium contained in them cause the tissue drainage effect.Sea algae wraps have a slimming and detoxifying effect. Therefore, allergy therapy gives good results in the treatment of obesity with stretch marks on the abdomen and breasts.Join us on Facebook! We publish the most interesting articles, events and competitions. We are where our readers are!Follow us on Twitter! We inform you about interesting facts and current events every day.Have you witnessed an important event?Have you seen anything interesting?Did you take an interesting photo or video?Reserved -
